In 1961, Santa hopefuls from department stores around the nation gathered in Albion, NY, to get “certified” at the only Santa School in existence. The school offered a five-day, $75 course that taught students the history of Santa, how to do proper makeup and costumes, and how to deal with any tiny terror that might fall on their laps.
